Dear Friends, Please send this letter or in your own words about Shagufta Kausar and Shafqat Emmanuel who face execution for allegedly sending ‘blasphemous’ texts to a mosque cleric. The threat of violence follows many who are accused of blasphemy, and groups will threaten or kill the accused and other people associated with them, including their lawyers, family members, and members of their own community.
We couldn’t find an email address for the ambassador in Washington so we’ve included addresses for the embassy’s two political officers. Thanks! Tilly & Guy

Dear Chief Minister Buzdar
I’m deeply worried about Shafqat Emmanuel and Shagufta Kausar, who, as you must know, were convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to death in 2014. They have been in prison for eight years waiting for their appeal hearing.
I strongly urge you to release Shafqat and Shagufta and ensure that they and their lawyers are given adequate security upon their release. Pakistan’s blasphemy laws will continue to endanger religious minorities and put lives at risk if they are not repealed.
Yours sincerely,
Please send a copy to the embassy in your country:
