Missouri: Marcellus Williams executed

I’m deeply sorry to report that Marcellus Williams, who was the subject of our last urgent action, was executed last night. This was over the objections of the family of the victim, Lisha Gayle. Even the prosecutor’s office claimed he might be innocent. His attorneys said DNA evidence on the knife used in the attack did not match Marcellus. They filed last minute requests to the US Supreme Court but they refused to intervene. 

His death ws the third execution for Missouri and the 15th in the country. More than a million petitions were delivered to the Missouri governor to spare Marcellus’ life.
