Hello,

for analysing my metagenomic samples I am using diamond together with the NCBI protein nr database (as a precondition for "meganizing" them to rma6 files for MEGAN6).

Would it be possible to use the generated daa files as input for HUMAnN2 (so bypassing the "internal" diamond step)?

Thank you,

Ralf

Hi Ralf,

I don't believe we're set up to read DAA files directly, but you can use diamond to convert DAA to tabular BLAST output (with a .tsv extension) and HUMAnN2 will be able to read it. Note, however, that the final results may not be of much use if the original protein database wasn't formatted with HUMAnN2 analyses in mind:

Thanks,
Eric
