Hello Humann2 users,

I have been dealing with a strange issue with the humann2_barplot script that seemingly randomly has popped up, as I have successfully utilized the script fine in the past.

I am running the following command:

humann2_barplot --sort sum --input Merged_Pathabund_table_w_groups.tsv --focal-feature PWY-6387 --focal-metadatum Genotype --last-metadatum Genotype --output PWY-6387.png

And the resulting output is generated, but it is shifted off axis.

I have also attached my input table for reference.

I would attached my output file and input...but it appears I cannot do so?

The latest matplotlib release changed the default horizontal alignment of bars in barplots, which is causing everything to appear shifted here. Pending an update to the script itself, the best way to restore the original appearance would be to revert to an earlier matplotlib version.

Thanks,
Eric
