Thanks for your excitement about the database updates! HUMAnN2 v2.9 and its associated databases are in testing now. We do not have a specific release date set, but we will be sure to alert this group when it is ready for broader use.

I noticed an issue when I used MetaPhlAn2(v2.9.21) and HUMAnN2(v2.8.1) for metagenomic data analysis recently. As shown below:

ERROR: The MetaPhlAn2 taxonomic profile was generated with the CHOCOPhlAn_201901 database. HUMAnN2 is not yet compatible with this database. Please run with the legacy MetaPhlAn2 database. Also keep an eye out for HUMAnN2 v2.9 which will be compatible with the latest MetaPhlAn2 v2.9 database.

 

It looks like HUMAnN2 is about to release a new version v2.9 compatible with MetaPhlAn2. I would like to use the latest version in our research, hence, I am wondering if the latest version v2.9 will be released soon? If you could tell me the expected dates or months, that would be very helpful to guide my plan for data analysis.
