With patriotic based challenges to the perceived authority of the
Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the time is ripe for an assertion of
political power to try to reign in rebel sentiment; reestablishing the
political power of tyranny over the economic freedom to trade.

Today, the FTC moved to consolidate its political forces. By
attacking the big, economic producer, Intel, the government stands
ready to make a politically powerful statement that even economic
giants can fall if they dare to imagine a Right to Trade.

Intel business lawyers were active today: organizing facts, creating
arguments, and planning a defense strategy on the battlements of Santa
Clara; the likely spot where economic and political forces are
expected to clash. Intel's prospects look grim. It has been a tough
year for profits. Tyrannically evil, government elements are on the
rise. And, the surrounding cities are providing little relief for the
battered economic troops of Intel corporation.

But, then a horn is heard, with a conquering call. Reinforcements are
seen streaming down the distant hills with courage and valor. A
banner rises that reads:

With an unexpected regiment of economic Calvary galloping right--
flanking the FTC, political forces on the left--the battle begins:

Book Critique #2: Dr. Folkman's War

The book, Dr. Folkman's War: Angiogenesis and the Struggle to Defeat
Cancer, by Robert Cooke, is the story of Dr. Judah Folkman's
extraordinary career as a talented surgeon and researcher. The theme
of his life was a tenacious drive to promote a central idea that he
believed could lead to a cure for cancer.

In this year of debate between supporting government health care or
capitalist medicine, reading Dr. Folkman's War can bring to light one
of the key issues that too many politically active Americans
disregard--the fate, or freedom, of the doctors.

Second Renaissance Books, that evolved into The Ayn Rand Bookstore,
reviewed and recommended Dr. Folkman's War. I do not believe that it
is still sold there. But, one may be able to obtain a copy at
Amazon.com.

Out of disrespect to the FTC, and in the spirit of the American
patriot, Patrick Henry, I trumpet, "If this be trade, make the most of
it!"

FTC political forces were, intellectually, beaten back yesterday.
But, still the illegitimate government department refuses to yield.
From what I'm reading, they are even massing what is left of their
decimated, political forces for another assault upon the economically
innocent corporation, Intel.

The link that I tried to arrange in the preceding post on this thread
took some unfortunate fire. I was trying to direct you to read my
article: Socialism and Freedom of Press that was written on December
1st in humanities.philosophy.objectivism.

Well, as I tried to show them, it is in the FTC's best interest to
stand down. According to the values of envy and illegitimate,
political power that the Federal Trade Commission bureaucrats share,
an image loss resulting from a show of force does not function to help
the politicians keep temporary, illegitimate positions. But, alas,
the tyrants battle on--so, I marshal my economic forces for yet
another fight:

As an objectivist specializing in medicine economics, I have bought a
copy of every book on medicine I could find, that was advertised in
Second Renaissance Books and Ayn Rand Bookstore catalogs. As of
today, I have completed eight of these books. In exchange for reading
some of them, I was paid medicine, through barter, from a here
unannounced company. And, the following ranking of said eight books
should be considered an official rating and advertisement.

Objectivist Medicine Book Rankings:
(#1): The Billion-Dollar Molecule / by: Barry Werth
(#2): Doctors: The Biography of Medicine / by: Sherwin B. Nuland
(#3): King of Hearts: The True Story of the Maverick Who Pioneered
Open Heart Surgery / by: G. Wayne Miller
(#4): Your Doctor Is Not In: Healthy Skepticism About National Health
Care / by: Jane M. Orient, M.D.
(#5): Dr. Folkman's War: Angiogenesis and the Struggle to Defeat
Cancer / by: Robert Cooke
(#6): Politicized Medicine / from: The Foundation for Economic
Education, Inc.
(#7): Addiction is a Choice / by: Jeffrey A. Schaler, PH.D.
(#8): Code Blue: Health Care In Crisis / by: Edward R. Annis, M.D.

I'd like to keep pummelling the FTC with my "trade crimes". But, I'm
running dangerously low on ammunition. So I say, "Good luck, Intel.",
and, "May glory and victory be yours, America." As for myself, I need
to do a lot more reading.
