Hello,

First of all, let me introduce you with a new FOSS project for the humanitarian sector which slowly having its birth. Sigmah is software to manage operational information within humanitarian organizations. It is developed on the base of ActivityInfo, and comes as a continuation to the Dynamic COMPAS. The project has at its top an open group of 12 NGOs, and Groupe URD, one of those 12, has the responsability of the animation and the implementation. More information is available on the project website: www.sigmah.org (website still under construction).
During the last meeting of the Steering Cooperative (the group of 12 NGOs), the H-FOSS Code of Conduct has been presented for validation. The validation is under process... you know what it could mean to deal with 12 organizations... but we are definetly as humanitarian as open source (GPL licence). I will naturally inform you on the day our project will validate (or not?) the H-FOSS Code of Conduct.

Sigmah will be available in 3 languages in version 1.0 which should be released in June: English, French and Spanish. A Catalan version is also planned before the end of the year.
In order to manage the translations of the software, we have naturally think to install somewhere a Pootle server.

And I have thought it would be better to use this effort not to install a server for our single project, but better to install a server for our whole family of H-FOSS projects, just to avoid duplication of similar efforts in all our initiatives.

Would that idea make sense for some of you?
If yes, where could we install it? CrisiCommons? hfoss.org?

Best,

Olivier.

We could maybe make wider use of this one:

Certainly. We would more than welcome the use of this instance for other HFOSS projects.

Thanks for your hospitality!

Let's do so then.
Who should I contact to start implementing this idea?

Best,

Olivier.
