Advancing a Culture of Free Thought" is the theme for this year's Portland Humanist Film Festival and boy are things ADVANCING!  Our website is up and running with a new fresh look.  60 film schools have been contacted as we call for Independent film submissions.   Our newest board member, Barry Ruffin, is on fire with marketing ideas and even went to Seattle for SIFF's Conference for Film Festival Organizers.  Our graphic artist is creating marketing materials, films are being screened and the elements are falling into place for a great film festival come opening night 11/11/11. Working with the secular community is one of our goals, and CFI-Portland welcomes The Humanists of Greater Portland (HGP) who voted to join us again this year as a major contributor.  Even Center for Inquiry-Amherst contributed their talent - just check out the new logo!

So a huge shout-out to Roger Bates for the astounding makeover to our website http://www.humanistfest.com/   More shout-outs to HGP for jumping on board again, to Cinema 21 for being a great partner and venue, to Ben Crockett for opening up his summer to prioritize the film festival, to Kurt Johansen for solving the PayPal riddle, to Multimodal Productions for their event planning expertise, to Wes Mahen for diving in for a second year as our graphic artist, to Jay Small for his videography services, and again to Barry for coming on board and being such a powerhouse of positive energy. There are more opportunities for CFI friendly people to join in and help make this event happen & there are a variety of ways, both small and large, to participate. Help make this CFI-Portland flagship event take form - contact us:  in...@humanistfest.com
