to Portland Humanist Film Festival
That’s right! There has been so much interest in CREATION that the
Portland Humanist Film Fest (PHFF 2010) needed to add a second showing
on Sunday evening. We want to make sure everyone gets a chance to see
this great film. The grand finale of this year’s fest, CREATION stars
Paul Bettany (A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code) as Charles Darwin,
and Jennifer Connelly (Labyrinth, A Beautiful Mind, and Paul Bettany’s
real life spouse) as Darwin’s wife, Emma.
The first run will be at 6:45pm. Sunday evening. The second show and
final film of our event follows at 8:45pm. Only 100 seats per
showing, and it’s first come, first seated. Get there early!
PHFF 2010 is also adding an extra hour on both Saturday and Sunday
mornings! By doing this we are able to provide repeat showings of two
more films, ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT and CHEAT NEUTRAL. This is great
news for people who may have plans on Saturday or Sunday morning. You
will still have an opportunity to enjoy these films on the alternate
day!
Have you ever taken that Ecological Footprint questionnaire on the
web? That’s what ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT is about, the creator of this
“custom fit” website and how it works. How does driving my make and
brand of car 40 miles round trip to work affect my footprint? What
happens if I sell my house and move to an apartment? How much does
recycling really affect my footprint “balance sheet”? How does MATHIS
WACKERNAGEL know so much about me???
Any doubts you’ve ever had about carbon offsetting will be comically
justified in CHEAT NEUTRAL. I love metaphors, and this film does it
well!
Please do check out the SCHEDULE page for details on all movies and
times. See you at the movies!
