As a leader in an American Humanist Association chapter, I wanted to make you aware of resources provided by AHA's advocacy arm, the Center for Freethought Equality, and CFE's affiliated political action committee, the Freethought Equality Fund to help increase the secular community's political activities.

If secular turnout had been higher in the last election the results might have been much different. At the Freethought Equality Fund website we have recently added resources to help activate the secular community: Making your Voice HeardEngaging your Group, and Running for Office.

At the Center for Freethought Equality website we have added a list of secular elected officials. It is a small list - that we are working to grow - and we need your help. If you are, or know of, secular elected officials at any level of government please contact us, and we encourage you and your group's members to run for office.

We encourage you to invite your elected officials and candidates for public office to speak to your group. For more information on what activities nonprofits are allowed and not allowed to do with regard to elected officials and candidates see our page on Engaging your Group

If you are not already a member, please join the Center for Freethought Equality -- it's free -- and please encourage your members to join too. As a CFE member, you will receive periodic emails about our activities and endorsed candidates.

Thanks for being a leader in the secular movement. If you have any questions, or suggestions for improving these resource pages, please contact me.

-Ron
