I lumped the readings into a few categories. The ones listed as
"first steps" would probably make for the best group discussions.
People who are interested in making stuff this summer will probably be
interested in the "physical computing" books.

Thanks so much for helping come up with this initial list. (http://
groups.google.com/group/humanist-makers-reading-group/web/humanist-
makers-reading-schedule)

As a group I'd like to see us choose one text that we'll all try to
read each week (as close to required reading as it gets), and optional
reads around the same themes that can enrich the discussion. There
are a few weeks that I'll have more time to read than others, so I
thought it'd be easier for some of us to stay plugged-in to the
conversation. How about we spread two of your larger categories over
two weeks? So the "first steps" titles could last for 2 weeks of
reading, as well as "design and philosophy."

For now I'll begin by indicating my interest in titles directly on the
page -- others should feel free to do the same and we can decide this
together.

How about we also have a volunteer each week to lead the group
discussion with a few questions? Indicate your interest by editing
the page as well.

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to this!
