While I originally suggested that we start reading as a group the week
of the 15th, I'm bumping us back a week in order to give everyone time
to get the book (I know they don't have the title in the GMU library).
Steve Lubar has offered to lead the discussion of David Pye's "The
Nature and Art of Workmanship" (A&C Black, 2008). We'll be reading
that book the 22nd-28th of this month, and discussing it here on the
group during that week and later.
I'm looking for some volunteers to help fill out the rest of the group
schedule (
http://groups.google.com/group/humanist-makers-reading-group/
web/humanist-makers-reading-schedule).. let's try to nail this down
soon so that we have time to acquire titles and set-aside reading
time. I'll also try to contact a few of the authors to see if they're
interested in joining the group.. worth a shot, right?
I'll mention this in a separate thread, but if you're in DC on Friday
the 26th, I'm organizing a meetup in Arlington, Virginia. I hope you
can make it, and we can kick off some discussion in person!
Best,
Dave
