Version 1.2 for Android (released late November) supports notifications. Are you using the PHP SDK? I'll add a sample program for notifications.

I've just updated the PHP SDK:

Version 1.4 catches up to the Python SDK, adding send_notification(), add_space(), add_share_button(), add_human_info_field(), add_venn_diagram(), show_warning(), reset_badge(), and set_badge(). I also added the $required parameter to several functions.

The ZIP file includes the notification_demo.php demo script. I've verified that it works on Android (2.3).
