We at the Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL), Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai would like to share help you : To Learn While You Work. To keep up with the fast changing world one must keep learning.

Since 1936 TISS has been an institution of excellence in higher education that continually responds to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all.

Knowledge keeps expanding with each passing day and hence there is no limit to the age till which one can acquire new concepts and ideas. 

"Nirantar" : Continuing Education Programmes (STP) Short Term Programmes are for individuals who intend to advance their career by adding professional qualifications and want to work at the same time.

The Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) was established on February 15, 2006, with the objective of providing training for adult learners in the areas of expertise in the Institute. The CLL was earlier known as Department of Extra Mural Studies, which was established in 1981. 

The CLL has students from the age of 21 to 83 which shows that individuals across any age group can be students at the same time.

The Centre for LifeLong Learning offers the following Short Term Programmes:-

1) Certificate in Counselling Skills

2) Certificate in Youth Leadership and Social Change

3) Diploma in Counselling Skills

4) Diploma in Gerontology

5) Diploma in Youth Leadership and Social Change (Online)

6) Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling [with exit option at Certificate and Diploma level]
