Just query on Dussera in 2013. Some calender it shows 13th October which falls on Sunday and some it shows 14th October. Can you please help with the exact date?

Dear Bindu,

I had the same query and then i checked in "Kalnirnay" which is a popular calendar in Maharashtra. In our company we have gone by this calendar and considered Dussehra on 13th october (Vijay Ddashmi).

Hi,
Kalnirnay Marathi states dussehra on 14th Monday and the Hindi version
states on 13th Sunday.
Maharashtra is celebrating on 14th Monday.
In my office we have 14th.

Dussehra ,as I understand would be when Ravana was eliminated by Lord Rama.

how could some one who is eliminated on 13th again be eliminated on 14th

We Indians only look at the HOLIDAYS ,Those Red Days in the calender ,no wonder the entire HR Fraternity here is asking for the Official Holiday List .

Dear All,

 

As you know, dussehra celebrates at the end of the navratri festival i.e. 10th day of the Navratri is called as Vijayadasami (Dussehra ). Navratri starting from 5th October & if we calculate the 10 days from 5th October, Vijayadasami comes on 14th October so many ppl saying dussehra is on 14th October . But as per the panchang tithi this year dussehra is on ninth day of navarastri instead of 10th day . So actually Dussehra is on 13th October.

Would appreciate a mail for learning and concrete factor effecting human resource,Agenda for 2013.

If you donot have any work, let's others to do the job,its not so much important to write chain of mail for these things and HR people are not responsible for festival date. Or write to specific people in the group at their email I'd.
Take guidance of your senior in your organisation.

Dear All,

I just wanted get the correct date as I was confused. But I see this query is taking wrong turn. 
I agree with you Vineet HR is not responsible for festive dates but we are answerable to the organisation when we give any wrong information. Employees plan their holidays etc as per the leave and holiday list. 

Meenakshi appreciate and agree with you. Thanks for taking this in right direction.

We are suppose to be future HR leaders, if we are not able to understand that how this group can help each other to reach or achieve what each one of would have planed for ourselves then what’s the point of knowing all of you who must be at varrious critical/important responsible designations with more than 10-15 years or ones who would be role modle to various in their own organisations.

 

I remember all of us also requested to form what’s app group and BB groups… till date I have not even seen any lucrative thing being discussed in that group. it’s become one of the chatting group.

 

It’s really sad, idea was to talk about new ideas, share new things happning  in HR Markit inteligence … not keep forwarding forward messages…

 

Request you to keep it strically as learning platform and not as any thing else.

I appreciate your efforts for writing below mail.

As I know , preparation of Holiday calendar is also the part of HR profile
in many organizations. If the HC members are discussing about the holiday
date it means they are facing some problems with it.

If you think this mail is not relevant to you , request you to simply ignore
it . Because, it might be useful to other members.

Ø  Partner with business heads to understand their needs and provide appropriate HR services.

Ø  Design and implement Succession planning for key roles

Ø  Responsible for driving key initiatives in the areas of employee relations  and retention
