I do not have any experience in the exit process of an employee. But
what I have known is that an employee is not given his experience
letter and releiving letter on his last day of working.
I would like to know if there is any law regarding this or it is just
a general practice followed. Also what are the reasons for not giving
these letters on the same day.
Kindly give in your valuable inputs.
Thanks & Regards,
Prajakta

It would bi in an interest of Best Practices, if you can clear all dues and
hand over the relieving letter to the employee the same day. We practice the
same in our company.
However delays are generally due to the processes like F&F or clearance from
various departments.

Prajakta ,
Ashish is right, there is no such law but it’s all depend upon your company policy, In my company we give acceptance of resignation letter first then Experience cum relieving letter on the last working day of employee and then after 10 days his final settlement cheque, other dues from both the side if any and full and final settlement letter. That’s it.
Warm Regards,
