Hi Friends,

The process of international conference (abroad) funding in IIT Delhi is important for all of us. But, its really a taxing process for first timers.

Thanks to my friends! Two important files describing the process are attached here: Excel by Anirban Kundu & ppt by Pankaj Zine. 

But, the rules keep on changing, as attached a new notice. Ideally, there should be a website dedicated for PG students with all updated information like accommodation, funding process, contingency, other forms and norms etc. I know for sure - there are no constraints from administration. The main issue is interest and commitment from the scholars.

Regarding international conference (abroad) funding process, I want to know from other experienced members:

Esp when the total expenditure exceeds 1 lakh (say 1.5L or Rs. 170,000)

1. Can Air-India travel constraint can be relaxed, if the difference in air-fare (from Pvt. airlines) is Rs. 15,000 or 30,000? What is minimum difference (otherwise, it will be borne by the scholars? What is the procedure for this relaxation?

2. Can we get the additional funding from our own internal contingency grant (20,000), for Int. Conf. travel ? If yes, how?

3. Inviting views from all members, how about requesting IIT Admin to make the contingency (20,000/ year) non-lapsable? There may be many scholar like me who never claimed contingency.
