hi there, i am new to hugin and have zero clue what i am doing. i can get as far as [nowhere] whenever i try it out, it always demands lens data which i do not have, ever.
so my wide experience in hugin consists of opening it, selecting my images and then turning the program off because that is as far as i ever get.
:(

i mostly want to work with the raw images from the Mars expedition rovers and the Mars science laboratory [MER, MSL] but without lens data just how in the world does one begin?

i also have FLAT map data which is for some reason created in a series of broken up square tiles and really need to stitch these together, but since they were made in Photoshop and there is no lens data for that either it is also impossible to do [at least for someone with no experience doing panoramic stitching, anyway]

i am NOT a computer newbie, i am NOT a digital image newbie!
i AM however, a panoramic image stitching- newbie, and would greatly appreciate any assistance advice and help in how to proceed.
many thanks,
Au

Have you had a look through the tutorials at
http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/index.shtml?
They should give you some help.
If Hugin is asking for lens data, your images don't have the the metadata
needed by hugin.
Try entering a value of 50 deg for the FOV, and see if Hugin can make use
of that.

There is a tutorial describing how to stitch flat scanned images.

If you still can't make any progress, I am sure we can give some more
specific help.
