to hugin and other free panoramic software
Hi group!
I've spent the last few days automating my work flow from raw file to
pto, and the last step I use is autooptimiser. Today I had set up a
bunch of image sets to be processed automatically and went for a walk.
When I came back, autooptimiser was having a go at a largish panorama,
and had been at it for quite a while already:
...
Strategy 2
Average (rms) distance between Controlpoints
after 773 iteration(s): 0.715563568257615 units
...
eventually I killed it - the change in the rms distance was somewhere
like five digits after the point. I wonder if it wouldn't be feasible
to build in some limit to the number of optimising steps - when I'm
optimizing from hugin I can just stop the optimiser if I feel it's
done well enough, but with an automatic process the optimization might
well go on forever and stop all the other jobs from happening until
someone intervenes manually.
Apart from that - thumbs up for autooptimiser :)
