Hugin 2019.0.0 freezes while matching control points with autopano-sift-c

autopano-sift-c gives me all the sudden grief when creating control points. It found around 100,000 control points but then freezes at 1% when finding matches.

I have completely removed it and reinstalled Hugin 2019.0.0 but the problem persists.

I haven't had any problems with Hugin for years, hence I believe it is Win 10 or one of its never ending updates that caused the problem. Is anybody out there having the same problem or having an idea how to fix this?

fixed by replacing Autopano-sift-c with version 2.5.2

it appears that all the rubbish that Microsoft dumps on Win10 machines during updates, didn't leave enough memory for 2.5.0
