Hi there,

I am a mac user and I have already red carefully the thread "Mac build of Hugin".

I used to really love hugin, even if the last available mac version (2019) had a lot of bugs. But it does not run on recent processors (M1, M2, M3).

I have 5 very simple questions:

1/ Why no official built since 2019 ?
2/ Why no update of the tutorial "hugin compiling OSX" since 2016 ?
3/ Why is it so difficult to compile WxWidget and finally hugin on mac ?
4/ Why the unofficial builds proposed in the thread "Mac build of Hugin" do they need some tricky manipulations, and then do not run ?
5/ Why is hugin not available on classical distributions (brew, port...) ?

In summary, why is it so difficult to use hugin on mac?

I miss it very much...

There are unofficial builds.

I've built the 2023 source code on MacOS 10.12.6 and MacOS 10.13.6
that I know runs upto Monterey.
There are no official distribution channels however.

I can share my DMGs if you'd like.

Hi Phillip, thanks for your answer. I'll be glad to try your built. I am using Sonoma 10.14.4 on a M2max Macbook Pro.

Solved!
This message may help mac users facing the same problem.
Phillip sent me a built of the last version he made, and it was impossible to run on my macbook pro (chip M2 max, MacOS 14.4.1). The error message was:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<report version="1.0" kind="exception">
  <system description="macOS Version 14.4 (assemblage 23E214)"/>
  <stack>

    <frame level="10" function="start" offset="0" address="0x2053a4366"/>
  </stack>
</report>

It appears that "GetMonitorProfile" was the cause of the exception.

Changing my display profile from "Apple display P3-1600nits" to "Apple display P3-500nits" fixed everything!

Thanks Phillip.
