Hello,

I am new to this group and Hugin in general. I am having trouble stitching a 360x180 spherical panorama while introducing certain masks into the frames. Without the masks, I am able to stitch properly and get good results. However, when I introduce the selected masks, while they show up good in the preview, when I stitch with the default PTBatcherGUI stitcher I get the following enblend errors;

enblend: warning: failed to detect any seam

enblend: mask is entirely black, but white image was not identified as redundant

enblend: info: remove invalid output image "nathan_bcsp_left.tif"

make: *** [nathan_bcsp_left.tif] Error 1

Does anyone in this group have suggestions for a novice in methods to try to get successful results? I am using Hugin V:2014.0.0.5, Windows 7, 64 bit.

My ultimate goal is to create VR content for stereoscopic photospheres with omni-bi-naural audio. I know, I bit off a big chunk for being new to panoramic imaging!

Thanks for any and all help this community can provide.

Can you attach a copy of your project file (.pto)?

You attached the makefile...what we really need is your hugin project file
(.pto).
To save the .pto, if you haven't already done so, recreate your project
with the masks, to the stage where you are ready to stitch, then go to
'File-> Save as', edit the name of the project file as required, and save.
Attach the .pto file as-is.

Ahh I know those errors way to well. It is caused when the masks confuses Enblend and it is not able to use one of the images for some reason. If you stay away from include masks it helps. Other than that you just have to go through the masks removing them till it works and when you put the masks back move the one or more that is causing the problems around a bit and it should work pretty well. After you have done it a few dozen times it is possible to get a feel for it and how to mask so Enblend does not throw a fit.

One thing that helps figure it out is while you are stitching hugin creates images. Take a look at those, any images that have long skinny parts are probably your problem.

I have also heard that other blenders *smartblend search the forum to find them* do not have this problem, but I have no personal experience with them.

You can try multiblend, available here <http://horman.net/multiblend/>,
and use it as a drop-in replacement for enblend.
In hugin go to File -> Preferences and in the Programs tab, "Enblend
executable:" replace "enblend" with "multiblend".
That should allow you to test whether enblend is the cause of your
problem, and if so you should check if there is a later release of enblend
that you could try, or lodge a bug report at
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/enblend/+bugs>.

That is the one that I was thinking of. Thanks for putting up the link
