panospace blog first mistake

Hi Yuv,

I like the idea of a blog to keep the world up to date on hugin development.  But why "panospace"?  I assume the blog has no relation to http://www.panospace.com.  Isn't this likely to confuse people?

because space is the final frontier, and hugin is at the bleeding edge
of pano technology.

bummer! I did not do much "neighborhood check". I just liked the name
and it was free in Wordpress' space.

Hi Yuv,

Given that the blog is devoted primarily to updates on hugin development, I would suggest that "hugin.wordpress.com" would be an appropriate (i.e. more descriptive, less potential for confusion) appellation.  With Pablo's permission, of course.

besides, I do not want to limit the blog's space by tying it to a
product name.

Hmmm.

Perhaps M. Mortens could be persuaded to relinquish the space, given that there's nothing there and it hasn't been touched in almost a year?  Barring that, perhaps a minor variation in the name would do (e.g., "hugin-news.wordpress.com")?  I think the blog could serve as a really first-rate replacement for hugin.sf.net, as Pablo suggested earlier today (easily updateable, and hence much more likely to be current).  But if it's to serve that purpose, I also think that it needs to have "hugin" somewhere in the name.

we are not limited to one blog only. if you want to blog about hugin and
hugin only, go ahead, start one.
