Hullo All,
I have been working on an update to the 'two-photos' tutorial, and was
presented with an error.
I'm not sure if this is to be expected or not.
I am using the following versions software...

autopano-sift-C-2.4.1-0.1.20080220svn.fc8.i386.rpm
enblend-3.1-0.1.20080216cvs.fc8.i386.rpm
hugin-0.7.0-0.3.20080327svn.fc8.i386.rpm
hugin-base-0.7.0-0.3.20080327svn.fc8.i386.rpm

with Fedora 8.

I had loaded the two example images and decided to see what happens if
'align' is requested before any control points had been set. I seem to
recall seeing (somewhere ?) that autopano-sift would automatically
align the images if the user hadn't set control points and 'align' was
requested.

I got a dialog box, entiltled 'WxExecute Error' stating the
following...
"Command: mono `which autopanog.exe` --output /tmp/ap_resCua4b0 --
imagelist /tmp/ap_imgnamesc5X8d9 failed with error code :255"

Is this to be expected?
If there should not have been an error, what is the expected result of
the operation I was trying to perform?

Cheers,
Terry

This is trying to use autopano-sift, whereas you have
autopano-sift-C installed. For your version of autopano-sift-C, you
need to change your preferences:

(from: /usr/share/doc/autopano-sift-C-2.4.1/README.fedora)

# To use with hugin, set the 'Autopano-SIFT:' preference to:
#
# autopano-c-complete.sh
#
# ..and the 'Arguments:' preference to:
#
# --output %o --points %p %i

Alternatively, go to the hugin 'autopano' preferences and 'load
defaults', you'll get the default 'autopano' setting for fedora
users.

OK, thanks for that.
That may, in fact, have been one of those 'slilly question'. I did
some more thinking after posting the question and looked at the
preferences, and to someone who hasn't used Hugin a lot, the
preferences for autopano are a tad confusing.
I will read a bit more and maybe learn something!
Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Terry

Yes, there are now several different tools for generating control
points and each has advantages and disadvantages. So we are still
not at a point where hugin can offer a single default solution that
is good for all users.

(BTW my daughter calls me 'slilly daddy', not sure that this is a
good thing)
