I sometimes run into an issue where an image is missing control points with respect to the previous and/or next image. If I look at the images there is lots of texture and the overlap is easy to spot (it could be contrast rich buildings). As soon as I manually input a control point I get correct assistance when I try to add the next control point in the same image.

What I look for is a button I can press in the UI which when pressed tries to create control points between the two displayed images. If the current algoritms have issues in some cases I think its reasonable to ask me to put in the first control point (to anchor the image) and automatically finding the next 10-20 control points should be much easier from there.

Would that be possible and does that feature sounds reasonable?

Kind regards, Casper
P.S.: I only work using the UI.

In the control points tab there is already a button "create cp", which will run cpfind only on these two images.
Furthermore you can select two or more images in the photo tab and then start cpfind from the photo tab. It will then only work on the selected images.

Hi Thomas,

I didn't know that I could select two or more images and press the "Create control points" button for only the selected images - thats great! I guess I can optimize between two images also?

But I can't find the "create cp" button in the control points tab. I see the "fine tune" and the "Celeste" button and I can manually add control points, but not an "auto" button.

Regards, Casper

With a custom optimizer setting you can optimize only these images.
Another way would be to restrict the optimizer to the active images (in edit menu) and activate only the 2 images which you are interested. (disable all other images)

But I can't find the "create cp" button in the control points tab. I see the "fine tune" and the "Celeste" button and I can manually add control points, but not an "auto" button.
The button labelled with Celeste has a small arrow - indicating a sub-menu. Right click on this button and then you can select create cp.
