Hello,

I use Hugin in Expert mode. I have been using Hugin for many years, but not since a few months. I decided to assemble a new panorama. When I started Hugin today, I was still in v2022. I did not fetch the new version at that time. As usual, I dragged the photos on Hugin, then I clicked on the first photo to see the preview. That's when the photos list disappeared, replaced with the "Lens type" and "Selected Image" panes. Above the "Selected Image" pane, there is a tiny double line, easy to miss. When clicking on the double line, a dropdown list appears, so it seems the double line is actually a combo box whose height is so small that it is reduced to a double line.

My first idea was to install the latest version, which I did. Same results. Then I tried to reset the parameters, no improvement. I have found the workaround, but is there a way for me to fix this?

sorry for answering so late. But I have no idea what could cause these issue. The size of these panes is coded in the xrc file. There could be some dynamic adjustment to adapt to different window size / display resolution.
So my initial idea would be to reinstall the version (but this you did already).
So maybe deleting the stored window size in registry. Close Hugin, start regedit, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\hugin and delete the folder MainFrame. The close regedit and restart Hugin.

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for answering. I tried your suggestion, same issue. I uninstalled Hugin and reinstalled it, same issue. I uninstalled Hugin, deleted HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\hugin and reinstalled Hugin, same issue.

So I did some other tests. If I run Hugin in a very small window ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NLLtQMiWyfcUHa60tUNmUQ4ZAUfyE3NX/view ), when I load an existing project ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lD7Jgy9PDNLpWTP6FvZa99P5jwWalLh4/view ), the contents stay in place. But as soon as I select one photo in the list, Hugin changes the proportions of the elements inside the window ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/13CikIQ0OP8Zx6adtRoM-NditSHNjSWIL/view ). I can increase the height of Hugin's window until I get this result ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NsCbff1C2xNvFIJU5HBWf3IZuUJ569as/view ). Then I can change the selected picture, and Hugin won't do anything strange, as long as I don't change the window size.

But if I increase Hugin's window width to about this https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MjsrX5g-sjVgkqVUzTfw3M6uQarOnrCC/view , when I change again the selected photo, I get this https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vMd0kU818nKWnx5j4MSKKM0ycW_VDiAn/view

I don't know anything about the tools you use to create Hugin, but couldn't you specify minimum dimensions for some elements? Or could you give the user "handles" to allow him to set the proportions as he wants?

One important piece of information : because I have a (close to) 4K display, I set the scaling to 200%. If I set it to 100%, all those issues disappear.

That's the culprit. wxWidgets does automatically scale the bitmap with this factor - so the preview size increases.
It should now be fixed in the repository.

I just saw that I hadn't set the sharing correctly. I fixed it now, everyone should be able to see the screenshots if they are interested.

Hello.

Which repository would that be? I'm on Windows and repo sounds more like Linux, but from what I could tell OP was as well.
Direct download from the sourceforge website results in no changes, and their 2024 folder is empty too.

The official source code repository was meant: https://sourceforge.net/p/hugin/hugin/ci/default/tree/
This is contains the source for all platforms, not only Linux.
