Hi mac users,

A new 32bit build. It is a patch update to 4918 where the general panini projection was not correct yet.

As always: Information and binaries via my website
<http://panorama.dyndns.org/index.php?lang=en&subject=Hugin&texttag=Hugin>.

(The binaries themselves are served from hugin.panotools.org who kindly provide the disk space and bandwidth).

Hoi,
Harry

Nice Harry,

I do not understand the little jump the Fast Preview does when adjusting the Panini General Cmpr and Bots sliders. This does not happen when sliding the Tops slider. The image dynamically changes when sliding the sliders, but the image appears to then resize when letting go of the sliders. I guess it is performing a Fit, which by the way seems to cut off part of the bottom. I think it has always been that way.

Nevertheless, Great job you guys. Just when the amazing starts to become old hat, out comes something like this.

Harry,

Would you expect this version to run on my old PPC G5 that is STILL
running 10.4.11?

I ask because I tried to open an existing project file with this
version of Hugin and it crashed almost immediately.
It was a simple project with a single Equirectangular that was getting
transformed into a Stereographic.

When I started a new project and imported a single file and recreated
the transformation ... I must say the new fast preview is pretty
impressive ... based on the last five minutes experience! ... it
seemed to go OK ... it is rendering the output file while I am here
typing.

all the best

George

Hi George,

2010.1.0-svn4933 definitely works on my PPC G5 when started from the
10.4.11 HD. I just tested with two projects, one from 2009-12-30, the
other one from 2009-08-29. Both open nicely, also using the fast preview
window. Oh, and it also works with projects (dating back to 2009-12-30
and 2009-09-01) just like yours: a single Equirectangular that needs to
be converted into a "little planet" Stereographic projection.

I suspect something is wrong with your pto file or maybe the input image
is corrupted. Does the .pto open in a text editor (e.g. TextWrangler,
just temporarily rename the extension from .pto to .txt)? Does the input
image open in an image editor (e.g. Photoshop, GraphicConverter)?

George,

I think we found a solution for Ralf, hopefully this also works for you:

Close hugin (oh well, it already did that itself...)
Please locate hugin's prefs, they are stored in
/<YourAccountName>/Library/Preferences/hugin Preferences

Drag the file "hugin Preferences" to your desktop and start hugin again,
it will set up a new&clean preferences file in the right location.
Sorry, you will need to set up the CP generators again:
<http://panorama.dyndns.org/index.php?lang=en&subject=Hugin&texttag=Hugin>
-> "How to configure the ControlPoint generators inside Hugin"

@ the developers:
(BTW could these settings be stored just like the "save/load lens..."
buttons in the Camera&Lens tab?)

Make sure that you leave the options for enblend in the preferences as
they are.

If hugin works again now, could you please do me a favour and send me
the old preferences file (the one you moved to the desktop)?

Ralf, if you still have your broken Prefs file, can you send that to me,
too?

Thanks,
Carl

Thanks Carl for analyzing this. I think it has to do with the new multi-step CP detector implementation since svn4918 and newer, like we also discussed in [0].
The way I dealt with that and which also mentioned to you is not to remove the entire preferences file, but to only run "load defaults" on the CP detector Preferences tab and then reconfigure the CP detectors.
Did that not help for you and George?

Harry
