There is very melodic, stuff, dubby chilled out dub influenced stuff, aggressive, abstract industrial influenced stuff, very cheesy obvious poppy stuff, fast, slow, jazzy, melancholy. It is one of the most diverse forms of electronic music in fact, being very hard to pin down. And yes, it is made with electronic instruments, drum machines, synthesizers and computers, which have become the instruments of today.</div><div></div><div>To produce music on a computer means you need to take on a lot more roles. You need to be a musician to actually compose and make the music (or a sample smith if you solely use samples), and this involves making the bass, the drums, the lead and so on, covering more rolls than say, just a bass player. Then you need to actually mix and produce the music, knowing how to apply EQ, compression, reverb and all the various effects that are required to make a finished piece of electronic music (of course there are some who do this badly).</div><div></div><div>Computers can be instruments.
