Bitter disappointment and last ditch effort!

In brief outline, it consisted of the promotion of GET OUT THE VOTE Halloween Parties or efforts at already scheduled Halloween Parties and events to ensure that every voter that wanted to vote had the opportunity and means to get to the voting sites and understood just how vitally important their single vote mattered and that those sorry excuses for American citizens that did not want to vote or were just plain apathetic had some serious "shame" pressure applied to them.
My own ideas consisted of:
1. Party favors or accolades for those that volunteered to transport elderly or handicapped or those without transportation to the polls.
2. Tip jars for gas money or to rent vans for the above efforts.
3. Once set up, massive calls to local newspapers to have them run feature articles on the idea to get the word out.
4. Awards or recognition for those polling sites that had either the highest percentage increase in voters from last midterms or highest percentage of registered voters that showed up.
5. Prizes for best political costume by category: Horrors of the Past, Horrors of the Present, Horrors of the Future. Prizes from Utube for best video skit or Comedy Central for best political satire.
6. Independents could have a field day by shaming the two major parties into putting out nationwide effort just before the election to GET OUT THE VOTE and pitch it as a COMPLETELY NON-PARTISAN EFFORT for the good of the future of American Democracy and generations not yet born!
7. Local ideas promoted at the parties (hay rides to the polls in the midwest, biker rides from patriotic biker groups in the South, swimsuit day at the polls in South Florida, etc.) used to ensure that no effort is spared to GET OUT THE VOTE!
8. Any idea besides my own is more than welcome!
Let's show the cyber world that our group really cares about the fate of this great nation and what real patriotism is all about. Please retransmit my idea in any way you feel is appropriate to every group, organization, or individual within your grasp. If you will send me addresses of groups that you locate to send the above out to, I will do my best--rain today, and I am trapped inside with time on my hands, but bear in mind, that I am ignorant and miserable at these sort of things--better for you cyber geniuses to make the effort, it will go quicker and smoother. Would really like to see what it would do on Facebook and twitter but I do not know how to properly use either at all.
You may want to deal with meetup.com because you understand what they are all about, but I pitched my idea to them as a way to showcase their skills and technology and they pretty much blew me off and lost the chance to define themselves as a leader in their field of business. Bitter disappointment when someone turns down a free opportunity to promote themselves nationwide.
