All-

I'm teaching the GIS (Spatial Analysis) class at Vassar again next semester, and I'm reaching out now to see if any of you are interested and available to speak to the class at some point during the semester -- in person or on Zoom, as is convenient for you -- about some aspect of GIS that you use in your work. I thought there might be some tasks or projects you work on that line up nicely with the topics in the textbook I'm susing, for example:
  • How you use GNSS to do inspections and boundary surveys, or any kind of field data collection or inventory, including digitizing on aerial imagery or other remote sensed data

  • Other types of data tracking you do that you have to map in GIS (table design, joins and relates), or maybe is part of your geodatabase of land holdings or data you work on or catalog for mapping and analysis (geodatabase design)

  • Any analysis you've conducted with the data you use, collect, or maintain; bonus if it's something you created a model in Modelbuilder to manage.
Feel free to wrtie directly to me instead of responding to the group. Thanks for considering it.

Best,
 -Neil
