Kids Planet Day Nurseries has grown to 182 settings across the UK through a combination of acquisition and greenfield developments. Our focus continues to be acquiring existing nursery settings that fit with our values for the highest quality in childcare and seeking development opportunities to build our geographical presence.
Salhouse Primary School is a community based school which incorporates Fledglings Nursery along with Fledglings Breakfast and After School Club. The setting provides a safe, secure, and stimulating environment in which your child will develop to their full potential by learning through play. Please contact a member of the Fledglings team on 01603 720402 (option 3) or fledg...@salhouse.norfolk.sch.uk for any information or to book.
We have also been learning about sea creatures and the beach! The children have had the chance to experiment with salt painting, working as a team to make their own jellyfish. We have also been taking part in lots of sensory activities focused on the beach, and objects we may find at the beach.
Fledglings provides an early years provision Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 6pm, term time. Children from 2 years of age are able to attend our Nursery with funding available for 3 year olds, please see Tracy or Sophie for more details. Parents and carers are most welcome to stay for the settling in period to ensure their child feels happy, safe and secure in their new environment. Some children may settle very quickly, others taking more time and needing a more gradual integration.
Fledglings is located at and part of Salhouse V.C C of E Primary School we have a close partnership with the school. Being sited within the school grounds has a beneficial effect on the children as they grow and reach school age. The transition between Nursery tends to be smooth as the children are already familiar with their surroundings and the older pupils and the staff.
Children are individuals who progress at their own individual pace. Through careful observation, planning and evaluation, we aim to support learning and development through play-based activities, beginning with what a child already knows or has an interest in and then by adding enhancements. They are stretched and can continue to have fun and enjoy learning.
For more information regarding safeguarding please read our safeguarding policy or speak to the Safeguarding Lead Practitioner (SLP) Mrs Tracy Chambers or Julie Church Head Teacher (Designated Safeguarding Lead).
Personal cameras are not permitted in Fledglings, this is to ensure the security of the children in our care. We politely request that if parents or carers bring a mobile phone onto the premises that it is kept in a pocket or in a bag. We appreciate that you may need to take a call, if this situation arises could you explain to a member of staff then go outside, away from children.
We promote a warm, happy, calm and safe environment where everyone is able to learn and work together. We celebrate achievement and recognise success, expecting the best. Teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do.

Fledglings Day Nursery and Pre-school is nestled within 15 acres of Overstone Park in Northampton, which comprises 350 acres of beautiful countryside. The Park was once owned by Lord Overstone and it is steeped in educational history.
The junior school building known as the Henrietta Franklin House was acquired and renovated. This building now houses Fledglings Day Nursery and Pre-school within the premises of Overstone Park School, which opened in 1983. We are very pleased to be carrying on such a great educational tradition by providing an excellent crche, nursery and pre-school.
