FYI... When I took the key codes to a lock smith I was charged $10/key
to cut the first key. After that the cost was $2 per key.

Janet is Correct. The Cost is High to get these. HUD sent out a comment
about if you make copies of the "Original" they might not work correctly. I
ask the locksmith about this he said this is true a copy of a copy of a copy
starts having issues with working correct. We have done both and
sometimes the key doesn't work. We have taken those keys back and made the
locksmith "copy" them correctly.

I own a property Property Preservation Company in NJ and we are very seasoned so I want to clarify to see if I can help you guys out?  I order all of my supplies not just Keys from PP Materials (212) 533-0090  HUD KEYS are only $1each there is a nominal shipping fee. The big six codes are : 76667, 67767, 35241, 23323, 52534. & Padlock A389.  There are also tertiary codes: 64445, 44535, 46637, 23255.  There is no such a thing as most common codes other than padlocks A389. Codes depend on the banks, the servicers, the nationals and the area of the country where you work.  Some banks may use an area specific key code, while others use different codes for example if loan ends in 0, 1, 2 or 3 X code is used and if loan ends in 4, 5, 6, 7 Y code is used.  I hope that will help all of you BOTGO contractors out there???  Also, regardless of if it is a Hud loan or not these key codes will be used.  Most servicers will require the vendor to rekey the property when it is in PPR Status well before it goes REO.
