Spread the Word: Career Fairs & Open Vacancies for Entry Level Patent Examiners This Friday and Saturday

Join your colleagues in helping to spread the word: the USPTO will hold two regional Patent Examiner Career Fair events, both on April 11 and 12 for individuals interested in patent examiner jobs with room to grow!
One event in Alexandria, Va. will run from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. on both days and will include ongoing information sessions and meet and greets with agency representatives. Walk-ins are welcome, but attendees are encouraged to register to secure a specific time slot.
The other event at the City College of New York (CCNY) in Manhattan will run from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on both days. This event will follow the same format as the event in Alexandria. Attendees can register for a slot online.
The USPTO is looking for applicants who have studied or practiced in various engineering disciplines such as mechanical, computer, chemical, and electrical. All vacant positions have non-competitive promotion potential to GS-13 and are open to all U.S. citizens or nationals.
Job highlights include:
  • Working at the #1 place to work in the federal government, as ranked by the Partnership for Public Service
  • Working with the largest intellectual property rights entity in the nation
  • Supporting economic growth and positioning America as one of the world's top innovators
  • Gaining experience, training, and mentorship you won't get anywhere else
  • Conducting research and interacting with applicants who are working on inventive, modern breakthroughs
  • Having access to alternative, flexible schedules, telework when eligible and highly competitive salary and benefits packages
Candidates who cannot attend the events may still apply. Current entry level announcements in Alexandria, as well as other areas of the country, can be seen by visiting USAJobs.gov and entering the keywords: Patent Examiner.
