The following is the last poll results, you need to wake up, the
decision
that you have been made are against the MAJORITY of the school

You were chosen to server the board, NOT ONLY be "in charge", but
more
importantly, you are IN SERVICE!

This is another "Board Notice" Sehngjing LI sent without anything
going through board, but straight to parent members. The notice even
contains such "important" announcement of his self-appointment as
"interim Principal". As everybody can think of, this self-appointment
is outside of board, just another count of violation of bylaw
(6.05.3).
Where are the other board members who had been claiming following
bylaw?
Parent members, stand up and protect your rights. Take the power back
to you from this dysfunctional board.
Gutuan Zheng
Board Director
Reference:
6.05.3 A Board member shall not be able to vote on his/her own
appointment or election candidacy. A Board member shall not be able to
vote on any matter involving him/her personally.

Hi Shengjing,
You mentioned "Attorney will explain the detail today" in your
yesterday's
email.
I have been waiting for attorney's explanation since yesterday. I
have
received neither her email nor your notice about the delay of her
explanation if there is any reason. 有一句老话叫言出必行. It is the basic
principal of
dealing with any business. I hope you have not forgotten about it.
Thanks.

A comment on #3, Shengjing appointing himself as the acting Principal.
Sorry
I had developed a habit recently to scrutinize the actions of board/
admin/PC
against the Bylaw. Not that I think the Board has the right to fire
an
elected school official. I brought this up simply to remind everybody
to examine and follow the Bylaw in good faith before making decisions
that
could impact the school greatly. According to the Bylaw:
*7.01.4* The Principal may resign at any time with a two-week
advance
notice in writing to the Board of Directors. In case of the
Principal's
resignation, one Vice Principal shall be appointed by the Board of
Directors
as the Principal for the rest of the term. *7.01.5* In the event that
the
Principal and all Vice Principals resign at the same time, the Board
shall
appoint an acting Principal.
It looks to me that the board should appoint one of the VPs as
interim
Principal in the absence of the Principal first before appointing
somebody
else an acting Principal.
In addition, the appointment of the acting Principal should be the
decision
of the board. It is not clear to me from Shengjing's email that this
is a
board resolution.

Lida:
My friend, I thought you must have learned by now that "HXNY Bylaws"
it just a
piece of tools to our high-ranking board officials. All the aces are
in their
hands. They call the articles when it fits their needs. When none
fits, they
invoke the article "12.03 The Board of Directors shall interpret the
Bylaws and
its application." to interpret anyway they want including twisting the
meanings
that are even so straightforward in reasonable thinkings.
"Reason with reasonable people" does not seem to work any more in
Huaxia Chinese
School, New York. It simply is like giving the rule book to a bunch
of bullies
and expect a fair game. I can only say the "experienced attorney" who
wrote the
Bylwas skillfully worked out on granting the maximum capacity of power
to board
members and more to the Chair. Do you still think those weaknesses
and
loopholes where done indeliberate? Think again.

ChaoChi, thanks. You can directly call me naive. But I am optimistic
as
always and I disagree with you that some of rules were deliberately
set to
favor one way or another. That would not be fair to the pioneers of
the
school.
My daughter will graduate this Sunday and my days of service to the
school
is very limited before I completely retire from the school. 俗话说,"死也想死个明
白"。I
am hoping the board can grant me the "dying" wish: at least let me
know to
some extent why my understanding of the Bylaw is so far off. Anyway,
I have
no regret trying and voicing my opinion at this special time.
Now I come to think of it, I was not completely unselfish when I
brought up
the question. I am actually one of the VPs who are eligible for being
an
interim principal vs a parking lot attendant as in common belief. It
would
have been an honor though. Now I am a little disappointed that
Shengjing
took away that slim chance :).
