Message from Board: Graduation Ceremony/Track and Field Game/Election on June 19, 2011

Dear HXNY members:

Sunday, June 19, 2011 is a big day for Huaxia Chinese School of New
York.
The graduation and award ceremony was smooth and applaudable; *Our
children* in
the track and field games showed their energy and excitement; The
general
election for the Principal and Parent Council chair was completed
orderly.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Huaxia
parents,
teachers and students for their participation and support. Special
thanks to
Xiaomei Li, Cathy Gao, Lida He, Jean Zhang, Jane Lou, Shou Wang,
Jiangping
Gao, Bin Li, Wei Liu, Dongkai Zhen, Shufeng Zhu for organizing and
hosting
the graduation ceremony. Their hard work and leadership made the
ceremony
event possible.

We also want to thank Wu He, Hao Li, Li Zhang, Iris Zhang, Bing Li,
Ying
Zhou, Wei Liu, Chao-Chi Tien, Owen Zhang, Roseate L. Wagner, Hongwei
Chen,
Yao Dong, Wei Li, Weigang Wang, Mark Chang, Yunchou Liu, Will Chen,
Henry
Ma, Yang Dai, Liping Yu, Baosheng Li, Zhongqing You, Jiangping Gao,
Wei Liu
for setting up the field and coordinating all the logistic tasks. We
are
grateful to have many unsung parent and grand parent volunteers for
their
efforts in helping us out on the fields.

We would also like to express our appreciation to all the volunteers
for
their help in conducting the general election. Special thanks to *the
voting
committee made of ** **PTA class parents* Min Xu, Vicky Lee, Dachun
Yao,
Zuojun Cao, Gang Xu for conducting the voting process. *Special
thanks* to
Mingjiang Gao, Hang Gao and Shou Wang for their observation of the
ballot
counting.

Thanks to all candidates *for contributing their ideas to build a
better
school**.* We herein formally announce the voting result of the
*2011*election as follows:

Total number of votes: *201* (exceeding the quorum requirement)
Number of Votes for candidates Dapeng Hu/Yawen Liu: *146*
Number of Votes for candidates Minghui Lei/Mark Yin: *54*
Number of invalid votes: *1*

As per simple majority* **rule**,* team Dapeng Hu/Yawen Liu has been
elected
to be the Principal and Parent Council Chair for the school year
2011-2012.
Congratulations to Dapeng and Yawen.

We believe that this new team of leaders will unite and strengthen our
HXNY
school and community.
