On February 27th and 28th, from 5:15
p.m. to 8:00 p.m., I will be conducting focus groups on colorism at Sankofa
Video and Books (2714 Georgia Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20001). I need between
6-10 (female) participants each night. To be eligible for consideration, participants
must be Black and between 18-36 years old. Food will be provided for
participants, but they must be on time! Preliminary questions will be from 5:15
p.m. to 5:55 p.m. and the focus groups will begin (promptly) at 6:00 p.m.,
lasting until 8:00 p.m. Participants will not be able to be involved in the
focus group without signing IRB and documentary consent forms, and taking part
in the preliminary questioning. All focus groups will be audio and video
recorded.
On February 29th (time and place yet to be determined) I will conduct a focus group with
Black males on colorism. Like the other focus groups, I will need between
6-10 participants between 18-36 years old.
