Hi,

I access the internet from behind a proxy. The proxy IP address has to
be entered into the browser settings to work. How do I configure
fiddler in this scenario. I prefer using firefox but cant seem to get
it to work.

Fiddler works fine when I'm not behind a proxy.

Please help!.

Thanks

Sam

Fiddler works fine with upstream proxies; this is the only way in
which I use it.

1> Close Fiddler.
2> Set up your default proxy in IE.
3> Surf around and make sure it works.
4> Start Fiddler.
5> Fiddler will chain to your upstream proxy from IE's settings.
6> Start Firefox.
7> In the Firefox status bar, click the FiddlerHook dropdown and set
"Send Traffic to Fiddler automatically"

Worked like a charm.

Thanks.

I realize this is an old thread.  Found it while doing a search for my problem.  This method got Firefox using a proxy thru the addon Foxyproxy to work.  Thanks for that.

Was wondering if there is a more direct if not eloquent solution 5.5 years later?

Just found Fiddler and it is Great!

Thanks for any help.

I don't think I understand your question. Fiddler does not require "FoxyProxy" for use and never has. You can learn more about using Firefox with Fiddler here: http://fiddler2.com/blog/blog/2013/04/01/configuring-firefox-for-fiddler.

If your question is: "I'd like Fiddler to chain to an upstream gateway proxy which is configured in Firefox but not in Internet Explorer" then yes, you can easily do this in Fiddler by clicking Tools > Fiddler Options > Gateway and specifying the proxy information there.
