Is it possible to configure Fiddler to capture from a bridged network or specific network adapter?

I have a TV plugged into my PC network card. Wireshark sees all packets to and from the TV but Fiddler sees nothing from the TV. Though it captures from the PC browser just fine.

Fiddler is a proxy, not a packet capture tool. If you want to capture traffic from a TV, set the proxy settings on the TV to point at Fiddler.

Alternatively, use WireShark or Netmon to capture a PCAP file and import that using File > Import Sessions.

I understand that it's a proxy, and importing a .pcap will allow me to see what went on, but I'd like to manipulate the traffic in real time via Fiddler.

Forgot to mention that I already set up the proxy on the TV. But the TV tunnels to "ssm3.internet.sony.tv:443", Fiddler doesn't display anything else after that, and then a network error appears on my TV.

The problem is that your TV doesn't trust Fiddler's root certificate.

Unless there's some way to jailbreak it (or they were goofy enough to allow you to visit http://fiddlerip:8888/FiddlerRoot.cer and install that certificate) then there's really no way to workaround that.

Tried the certificate thing, but it just truncated back to the 8888 portion of the URL and sent me to that page. I'll play around with it some more when I get a chance.

Hi Rob, Have you managed to install the certificate on TV?
