Exporting to HAR ruins request content if it's not plaintext

Unlike non-plaintext response content, which gets base64 encoded in the output .har file, Fiddlers seems to save non-plaintext request content as Unicode which means when I try to open up the .har later, the original content is lost.

This isn't intended behaviour, is it? Can I put forth a request to get this fixed?
