Apologies if this has been asked, i did a search and found nothing, when do you expect to update Fiddler for the new Edge Browser? Right now unless I have a setting not applied correctly, I can see no traffic for the new browser.

Thanks!

Hi, Jed-- I use Fiddler with Edge almost every day. One key thing to understand is that Edge currently has a bug whereby it only checks the proxy settings when it starts up (and doesn't notice changes at runtime). Therefore, to use Fiddler with Edge, you must start Fiddler before starting Edge, and leave Fiddler running until you close Edge.

The IE/Edge team is aware of this annoying bug in their browser, and I can't imagine a scenario in which they don't fix it.

thanks,

-Eric

Hi Eric,
I'm having a problem with Fiddler and Edge. I have started Fiddler4 before edge. When I bring up edge, I get a "Can't connect to the proxy server" error message, along with a Go to proxy setting link. When I do that I see that a Manual Proxy setup has been enabled. http=127.0.0.1:8888;https=127.0.0.1:8888

I'm using Windows 10074

As Fiddler started up, it showed the following message box:

  ---------------------------
  AppContainer Configuration
  ---------------------------
Windows uses an isolation technology called 'AppContainer' that may interfere with traffic capture from Immersive Applications and Internet Explorer. Use the WinConfig button in Fiddler's toolbar to enable traffic capture.

Would you like to learn more?

To disable this warning, click 'Cancel'.

  Yes   No   Cancel

To enable Spartan/Edge's AppContainer to connect with a local proxy (Fiddler), click the WinConfig button at the left edge of the Fiddler toolbar.

Thanks, that was it. I should pay more attention to the initial dialog box that comes up. It wasn't apparent to me that this applied to Spartan/Edge. But now it makes perfect sense.
