Dear West African Colleagues,
Complements of the season!
At the biomedical engineering workshop organised by THET in Johannesburg, South Africa, Oct 2015, the representatives from West Africa countries organised and proposed to form a west African biomedical engineering group.
The proposed name of the group was West African Community of Biomedical Engineering (COMMUNAUTE OUEST AFRICAINE DE L’INGENIERIE BIOMEDICALE) = WACBME.
The members representing the West African countries present formed a working group. The Working Group (WG) with the task to draft the constitution of the WACBME is composed as follows:
Kenneth I. Nkuma-Udah (Chairman) Nigeria
George Boadu (Secretary) Ghana
Laleye Roland (Vice Chairman) Benin
Didace Saturnin Foro Burkina Faso
Maxime N'Dolly Kouakou (Asst. Secretary) Ivory Coast
Nyassi Ebrima The Gambia
Andrew Jones International Advisor
Edward Tonkin International Advisor
Anna Worm International Advisor
Mary Logan International Advisor
Maurice Page International Advisor
Adriana Velazquez International Advisor
Asha Varghese International Advisor
Ray Schmidt International Advisor
So, I feel its long overdue to commence work on WACBME.
To start I have attached a draft constitution both the English and French versions
We shall use the next 4 weeks to peruse and endorse the draft constititution and move to the next level of formation of our dear WACBME.
The time is shorter for WACBME because if you have perused through the draft constitution of the African Federation, then that of WACBME should be a walkover.
We still need to add repr for countries not already represented in the WG for this West African Community
Best of Luck.
Dr Kenneth I. Nkuma-Udah
Chairman - Working Group for West Africa Community of Biomedical Engineering
