Invoicebus lets you add any template purchased from the
template store seamlessly. There are two ways to do this:
- by clicking "Save Online" in the template (use this if you are NOT modifying the HTML/CSS), or
- by uploading the template to Invoicebus (use this if you are modifying the HTML/CSS).
Saving a template by using the emended "Save Online" command in the template
If you do not plan to make custom modifications in the HTML/CSS, the easiest way to save a template to Invoicebus is by clicking "Save Online" at the top of the template (you need to extract the template from the archive first and open the template.html file with your default browser). Then if you are logged in to Invoicebus, you'll be taken to your Invoicebus account and the invoice (along with the template) will be automatically saved. If you are not logged in, you'll be taken to a login page to enter your credentials first. The saved invoice can be deleted later if you don't need it (in this context we use the command only as a shortcut to save the template).
To set the template as default in Invoicebus:
- Login to Invoicebus
- Click New Invoice in the right menu
- On the left-hand side of the page scroll down to the template link (section with dates)

- A window with templates will open up

- Select the template in the list
- Click Apply
- Save the invoice
From now on, all your future invoices should have the new template. You are allowed to use different templates for different invoices. However, the last used template will always be set as default when you create a new invoice.
Note: The template is applied only after you save the invoice (the invoice editor will keep its original look).
If you wish to apply the template to your automatic invoices:
- Login to Invoicebus
- Locate and select the autoinvoice form in the dashboard (usually, this is the invoice marked with number "Automatic")
- Click Edit Invoice in the right menu
- On the left-hand side of the page scroll down to the template link (section with dates)
- A window with templates will open up
- Select the template in the list
- Click Apply
- Save the invoice
All automatic invoices will be generated with the new template.
