Howdy

[Rich Hammett]

I would say howdy from Atlanta, but I'm in Palo Alto at the
Numenta Workshop this evening.

I don't know if introductions are the habit on this list,
but I feel loquacious today. I'm Rich Hammett, a PhD
student in Neuroengineering at GaTech and Emory in Atlanta.
I've got a background in electrical engineering and computer
programming back when I had real jobs.

I'm an amateur linguist who really got into it when I learned
Finnish (fairly fluently) 10-15 years ago. I've got a
smattering of Japanese and French, including some occasional
reading in language history in all 3 of those. I've learned
a smattering of English, but not very good English, in 40 years
in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.
