Has anyone read "The Symbolic Species: The Co-Evolution of Language
and the Brain" by Terrence
Deacon?

Until I'd read On Intelligence a few years ago, The Symbolic Species
was the book I felt had the most intriguing views on the brain,
thought, language, etc. It certainly provoked my thinking the most.
Deacon looks at the problem from a strong evolutionary perspective
with a wide range of supporting knowledge.

Somehow my copy disappeared, so I need to pick-up another and reread
it in an HTM light.

I have the book, I don't think I ever finished it. What did you find
so intriguing in it?
