I know it has been pretty quiet since the pandemic. Is anyone interested in responding to this request for proposals from Siemens? They want to run hackathons for girls this summer across the US and Canada. As you can see, I have been candid with them about the inactivity of HtF since COVID.

Thank you for your request for proposals. My name is Mark Miller. I am the Executive Director and CEO of Learningtech.org®, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves as the fiscal sponsor for Hack-the-Future. Both organizations have conducted similar sorts of events in the past.

Since the end of the COVID pandemic, Hack-the-Future [HtF] has been relatively inactive. Having said this, the sorts of things you are doing would be of great interest to those who were involved, including myself. Hence, I will reach out to the HtF community to ascertain the feasibility of submitting a proposal addressing your requirements and timeline. I also have colleagues at related organizations, so with your permission, I would like to alert a slightly broader audience, based on the responses of key HtF contributors. All involved have expertise and extensive experience in the areas you seek.

I'll keep you posted on our progress.

I greatly appreciate the work that your organization is doing to ensure that girls are included in STEM.

- Supply a video platform and meeting rooms.

- Assign participants into teams.

- Have knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) to suggest themes and prompts.

- Ensure legal compliance to work with girls aged 12 to 19 and offer age-appropriate curriculum.

 

We would appreciate it if you could provide detailed information about your services, including the cost, and let us know where you can and cannot fulfill our requirements. Your assistance and expertise will be invaluable in making this event a success. Please ensure a proposal is returned by 3/1/25.

There is an impulse in me that wants to help, but tbh I feel like we have lost all of our steam at this point. If others are interested I would be willing to help how I can, but I worry this would all end up on one or two people who are left. I’m not even sure if everyone is still in the Bay Area at this point?
