Status?

Whats the current status of the group? I know we've missed at least a
hack night or two. I don't want it to die again, so let's work
something out.

You're right, we haven't met in too long. Things have been very busy
for me and the company the past month and a half, and I simply haven't
hadn't the time to run the group properly. I'm open to continue
leading the group, but if someone could help organize meetings that
would be a huge help.

Personally, I think the main issue we're having is finding speakers
and topics to talk about. Much of this is due to Huntsville, but I
think we could figure something creative out that uses group members
for presentations instead of people we have to bring in from outside
the group. I'd like to hear some more discussion on this topic.

I agree that finding speakers has been the toughest part. Also,
members giving presentations is exactly what the original intent of
the group was. Even with that it's been hard to find someone with the
time or interest in a topic to give a presentation. I've been putting
some thought into it recently and something along the lines of a group
project might be a good next step.

I've been at RailsConf this week, and tonight we're at a great BoF on Rails (and Ruby) Activism. Man, I've got ideas.

It's amazing how many other user groups face some of the same challenges that we have.
