What can I use as a substitute for the no-longer-available Outlook Express?
I have some email addresses (mainly Comcast.net) for well over a decade,
and I wish to continue using them, but have no interest in going to their
webpages (besides, it is awfully time-consuming!)
Is there any free, shareware or cheap email program that can fulfil the
functions of Outlook Express? The email is paramount, but newsgroups with
something other than Google would be nice too.
I can't believe how they "improved" windows! And you can't buy a computer
with XP anymore either!
MS has identified solutions.
Would you like the know more?

Does everything that OE did, and does it better IMHO.
PS, if you have specific problems with W7 that you want advice on, fire
away, I've been running it since early 2009.

Actually I was looking for a way to read text-only newsgroups.
Googlegroups is fairly good for posting from/to the Huntville groups. But
my favorite newsgroup has hundreds of postings per day, and threads that
meander for weeks. Google does a poor job with it. though Outlook Express
(no longer available with Windows7, 64bit.) managed to do it quite well.
