JOB TITLE: Sales Engineer

SALARY : $50000 - $60000
DESCRIPTION:
The worlds largest manufacturer of polyethylene pipe products has an immediate
need for an experienced Sales Engineer in Huntsville Alabama covering the
northern third of the state down to Tuscaloosa (Birmingham is not included in
territory). With more than 100 manufacturing and sales locations, they employee
3700 people nationwide. Working from a home office they will:
Promote new business through developing & maintaining an organized, ongoing
prospecting system
Secure state, federal & local approvals consistent with territory plan
Secure local specifications/approvals & ensure that customers are fully
acquainted with all products
Conduct training seminars to educated customers in correct usage/application
Assist customers with system & process designs
Maintain/increase business by calling on/servicing present customers
Consult with customers on supply and price trends & assist in inventory control
Maintain an up to date & comprehensive customer record system listing key
contacts as well as marketing & pricing strategies
Open, with the approval of the Area Manager, new distributorships in the
territory
Obtain all needed credit information for new customers & work with the Credit
Department to develop appropriate credit limits
Assist credit department in the collection of accounts receivable
Effectively utilize sales literature, samples, sales aids & demonstration kits
Keep in contact with Customer Service/plants to address any customer activity
issues including unusual requirements
Report all customer complaints & try to ensure that these issues are resolved
in a timely manner to the mutual satisfaction of both customer & company
Develop yearly territory sales plan for Area Manager detailing specific goals
& objectives and a plan of action for achieving them
The ideal candidate will have at least 2-5 years experience in outside sales to
the Construction, DOT and/or City and County Departments. A company car and
