I am looking for a creative and challenging position in the areas of
Windows/GUI programming (X/MS win),Network programming and/or administration,
and Database development. I have two years industrial experience.
My course work (as stated in my resume) at the school has
involved studying, design, implementation and evaluation of
state of the art research and industrial problems. I had
extensive course work in the design and development of Network
protocols and distributed systems. I also had software engg.,
classes which have further improved my project development,
testing and management skills.
My skills can be described in a nutshell as: Good under-
standing of Xlib, XtIntrinsics, Athena and Motif widget sets,
and Strong knowledge of C, C++, SQL and good understanding of
NFS, NIS, TCP/IP, TLI in SVR4, and Network (streams and sockets)
programming, client-server applications and substantial expe-
rience with Ingres 4GL and Oracle 6.0.
I am eagerly awaiting to dedicate myself to any challenging position
which uses my solid background and i am willing to join immediately.

* Developed a GUI using Visual Basic3.0 for a Plant management system
to visually show the results of various new methods of monitoring
the growth and development of plants and interfaced with ACCESS
using ODBC drivers.
* Designed & Developed a electronic personal assistant using Visual
Basic 2.0. This system handles Schedules, Things to do, Calendar,
monitors daily and weekly assignments.
* Developed an interactive CAD package in C++ for designing sheet metal
components using Motif widget set in X-windows. In this one tabs are
attached and holes are drilled on a base and these can be of different
shapes. The same is ported to MS-Windows using SDK.
* Designed and developed a Rigid Body Dynamics package in MS Win/SDK
which displays the response to a force applied at any point on a
kinematic system made up of polygonal bodies connected by rotational
and translational joints. It also analyzes the corresponding force,
accleration, velocity and momentum experienced by the system as a
result of the applied force.
* Developed a tool in C++ using OOSD for calculating different software
properties like Specificity, Monotonicity using McCabes measures.
* Designed & implemented (in C) a file transfer Protocol (FTP) using
UNIX UDP primitives for reliable delivery of packets over an
unreliable network. Error control and congestion control are
considered.
* Implemented a data dictionary for a distributed database in Unix
environment using IPC and networking (TCP/IP) primitives. This is
an implementation for data transmission across different machines
without sacrificing serializibility in a fault tolerant network.
* Developed a card game (like poker) on ISIS operating system using
abcast and cbcast primitives. In this game each player is
implemented as a concurrent process and involves reaching consensus
among these distributed entities.
* Designed and implemented a traffic controller for 4 way inter-
section in Concurrent C.
* Designed and implemented a Database System for payroll and
inventory using INGRES using SQL/forms. The database was designed
in fourth normal form without any update anomalies. A menu driven
user interface was provided.
* Developed a graphics package using Think Pascal 4.0 on Macintosh
with pushbuttons, dialogboxes, and Hypercard figures.
* Modified MINIX OS kernel to make context switching more efficient
and to implement memory compaction, a new RAM disk device driver,
and system calls to implement semaphores.
* Designed and Implemented a two pass compiler for a subset of
modula2 language.
