By now I assume everyone has heard the news that Parker Griffith
is pulling a Shelby and switching to the GOP. Guess he didn't
notice that the GOP is in the minority. Maybe he thinks the GOP
will become the House majority in 2010.

Wonder what impact this will have on the federal money that comes
to north Alabama?

Democratic leaders are calling for Griffith to repay the party
for the resources they invested in getting him elected.

Fox News has a good article about the situation:

IMHO, stupid move on his part. Saw Cramer in Star Market the other night.
I miss him as Congressperson. Parker is going to cost HSV money by going to
the Repulican party. He doesn't know how to be a Blue Dog which is what it
takes to survive as a Dem in Alabama.

Hopefully the poor people will get out and vote again.

In the Fox News article, Griffith "said he would write a check to voters who
wanted a refund." Does anyone know where I send in my request for a full
refund? I figure about $2 in gas and about hour or two taking off to vote
for him at, say $100/hour. Let's don't even talk about all the pain and
suffering he inflicted on me when I found out I had been betrayed. All in
all, that's a pretty shitty thing to do. At least have the decency to be
bought out during the campaign.

Thanks,
Eric

Anyone remember how our Dick probably pissed off Al Gore when he was VP,
most likely being the reason the practice water tank at Marshall went to
Texas?

A long time ago, the Democrats all the way from local to the DNC should
have required a signed loyalty oath that any candidate paid with
Democratic campaign funds who pulls a Shelby must:

1.

not run for office ever again as a Democrat, nor run for any other
party for some time period to ensure we don't have any more
Griffith/Shelby/Graddick fiascoes. "Dance with the one who brung ya"

2.

once elected, if a "sudden change of heart" (yeah, right...)
occurs, the office holder shall immediately /resign/ from the
current office held, refund all expenses paid plus interest, or
pay for the next Democrat's campaign to win that seat back.

3. not contribute in any way, financial, public appearance, etc. to
any other party's candidate as governed by (1).

As to these backstabbing Shelbyites, you can bet they'll regret having
Albatross Parker hanging around, since all of their nasty ads /against
/him are still available. Especially the ones about how dishonest he is.

How is it that the right-wing nut jobs act as if tape recorders and
video tape don't exist?
